PrestaShop to Shopify.Off the maintenance hook.
Self-hosting means you own the servers, the patches and the module conflicts. Moving to Shopify hands all of that back and leaves you with the storefront.

The problem
What goes wrong leaving PrestaShop.
The risks specific to this platform, not generic migration advice.
You are the hosting team.
Security patches, PHP versions, backups and uptime are all yours on PrestaShop. One missed update is a breach or an outage, and neither is a good week.
Modules fight each other.
PrestaShop overrides and third-party modules conflict in ways that only appear after an upgrade. We inventory what each one does so the Shopify equivalent is a decision, not a surprise.
Combinations and languages multiply.
Product combinations across several languages produce a large, interlinked dataset. Each language also has its own URLs that all need redirecting.
How it works

Migrate

How to Migrate a Large Catalog from BigCommerce to Shopify Without Losing Products
Large BigCommerce to Shopify migrations stall on row-vs-product math. The real limits (15 MB CSVs, 2,048 variants, redirect caps), the tools that handle big catalogs, and the 5-gate checklist to migrate 30,000+ rows without losing SKUs or rankings.
How to Improve Shopify Store Speed (It's a Conversion Problem)
Shopify's own data ties every 100ms of added load time to ~3.5% lower conversion. How to improve Shopify store speed where it actually counts: images, apps, and theme code - what a good page load time is, and when a speed optimization app is enough vs custom work.
Frequently Asked Questions
We sell in several languages. Does that survive?
Yes. Shopify Markets handles multi-language and multi-currency natively, and we migrate each language as its own surface with hreflang intact. The per-language URLs all get their own redirects rather than collapsing into one.
What happens to our custom modules?
We list them and ask what each one is for. Most have a direct Shopify app equivalent, some are replaced by native functionality, and anything genuinely unique to your business we rebuild properly rather than approximate.
How much downtime is there?
None that customers notice. We build and test everything on a staging store, then switch DNS during a low-traffic window. Your old store stays live until the new one is verified.
Can you migrate directly from our database?
That is usually how we do it. Reading the PrestaShop database directly is more reliable than its export tools, particularly for combinations and order history where the exports tend to flatten relationships.
Will we lose our Google rankings?
Not if it is done right. We build a complete 301 redirect map from your old URLs to the new ones and preserve your metadata and structure, so link equity carries over. We monitor rankings after launch.
Can you redesign while we migrate?
Absolutely. Many brands treat a migration as the moment to upgrade. We can replicate your current design or build a new conversion-first store as part of the move.
