NetSuite Shopify integration
NetSuite runs your finance, inventory and subsidiaries; Shopify sells across markets. We connect the two so orders, stock and prices flow correctly between currencies, warehouses and entities.

What syncs
What moves between NetSuite and Shopify
Every flow is scoped up front - what goes where, which way, and how often.
Items and variants
Inventory Items and Matrix Items in NetSuite become Shopify products and variants by SKU, including custom fields and images.
Price levels and currencies
Price Levels and per-currency pricing map to Shopify Markets, including customer-specific price lists for B2B.
Stock by location
Quantities by Location and Subsidiary map to Shopify locations, with available-to-sell stock after commitments.
Orders
Shopify orders become Sales Orders in the right subsidiary, with currency, tax, discounts, shipping and payment, then progress to fulfilment and invoicing.
Customers
Customers are created or matched by email, assigned to the right subsidiary and price level.
Fulfilments and invoices
Item Fulfillments update Shopify with status and tracking numbers; the invoice is raised in NetSuite and sent to the customer.
How it works
Five steps, no surprises
From a short scoping session to ongoing maintenance. You know at every point what's being built, what's been tested and what's live.
- 1
Scoping: what connects to what
A short working session where we mark exactly what moves between NetSuite and Shopify, and in which direction: products and prices, stock by warehouse, orders, customers, invoices, shipment status. You leave with a short, plain spec and no surprises later.
- 2
Access and permissions
We set up a dedicated API user in NetSuite with the minimum permissions it needs, and a custom app in Shopify with exactly the scopes required. If you have a sandbox or test company, we build against that first.
- 3
Field mapping and build
We map SKUs and variants, price lists and tax, shipping and payment methods, then build the integration on our own service with logging and alerts. Every business rule you have - what happens when an item sells out mid-checkout, for instance - gets a defined behaviour.
- 4
Testing in parallel
We run test orders end to end, stock scenarios, returns and credit notes, and check that the numbers in NetSuite and Shopify match exactly. Only once everything reconciles do we connect the live store.
- 5
Go-live and maintenance
We launch with monitoring on and watch the first days closely. Later changes - a new field, another warehouse, a second store, a rule that changed - are an update to an integration that already exists, not a new project.
The technical side
How we connect to NetSuite
Connector, iPaaS or custom
Oracle's own NetSuite Connector (formerly FarApp) handles fairly simple setups. An integration platform such as Celigo covers standard flows quickly. Where there's unique logic, several subsidiaries with different rules, or a subscription that keeps climbing, a custom integration against NetSuite's APIs pays for itself.
REST, SuiteTalk and RESTlets
We work against SuiteTalk REST, and RESTlets in SuiteScript for the cases it can't cover, with token-based authentication and a dedicated integration role.
Multi-entity, multi-currency
One store per market or one store with Markets - either way, every order lands in the right subsidiary and currency, with tax handled per country.
Timing and logic
Orders move immediately via Shopify webhooks; stock and prices sync on a short interval. Every run is logged, every failure raises an alert, and a queue means anything can be replayed.
Edge cases
Returns (RMAs) and credit memos, partial orders, a customer changing subsidiary, a product sold in several markets - each gets a defined behaviour at scoping.
Other systems
We connect these too.
Same process, different ERP. Each one gets its own field mapping.

NetSuite Shopify Integration: NetSuite Connector vs Celigo vs Custom
Three ways to connect NetSuite to Shopify - Oracle's own NetSuite Connector, an integration platform like Celigo, or a custom build. What each handles, where each runs out, and the NetSuite-specific decisions about subsidiaries, price levels and order records that matter more than the tool.
Shopify ERP Integration: Connector, iPaaS or Custom - How to Choose
There are three ways to connect an ERP to Shopify: the vendor's own connector, an integration platform like Celigo, or a custom build. What each one actually covers, what the official connectors leave out, and the rules that decide which you need.
Frequently Asked Questions
Doesn't NetSuite have its own Shopify connector?
Yes - NetSuite Connector, formerly FarApp, which Oracle acquired in 2021. It works well for fairly simple integrations. If your setup is standard, we'll tell you it's enough; we come in where you need custom logic, B2B or several subsidiaries handled differently.
We have several subsidiaries in NetSuite. How does that work?
Each store or market maps to its own subsidiary, with its own currency, tax and price level. The rule is set at scoping and enforced automatically.
What happens when something fails, like an order that doesn't come through?
The integration retries automatically, and if the problem persists it sends an alert with the order and the reason. Everything runs through a queue, so any order can be replayed. No order disappears quietly.
How long does it take?
It depends on scope. Connecting stock and orders is faster than a project with B2B price lists and several warehouses. After scoping you get an exact timeline before anything is built.
We already use Celigo. Do we still need you?
Sometimes only to configure the flows properly and handle the edge cases; sometimes to replace expensive or brittle flows with a custom integration. We'll look at what actually costs you more.
Who handles NetSuite licences and roles?
You or your NetSuite partner create an integration role and token. We do everything after that.
Can we start with part of it and extend later?
Yes, and it's what we recommend. Start with whatever hurts most - usually stock and orders - then add invoices, B2B customers or another store as an update to the integration you already have.
Do you work with Shopify Plus?
Yes. Shopify Plus adds native B2B, company price lists and checkout extensibility, and we use them wherever they make the integration simpler or more capable.
